The practice administrator will manage front desk and scheduling employees at two locations (Brookside and Overland Park). The Practice Administrator works closely with the providers of the medical practice or clinic, along with the practice owner(s), to ensure effective, high-quality patient care is provided. This involves all aspects of the daily operations of the laboratory and clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in implementing the organization’s business plans for the practice / clinic.
  • Recommends, develops, implements improvements for the practice.
  • Informs medical director about current trends, problems and medical activities to facilitate policy making.
  • Establishes, secures approval and oversees clinic operating policies and procedures.
  • Assists providers to ensure all resources are available for quality patient care.
  • Oversees efforts for recruitment, development, performance evaluation of employees.
  • Oversees the business and financial affairs of the clinic and fiscal management in conjunction with the practice CPA.
  • Oversees and manages the billing and collection process within the practice / clinic.
  • Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care.
  • Ensures clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies.
  • Continually monitors operations, programs, physical properties; initiates appropriate changes under the direction the Regional Practice Manager.
  • Encourages community education by initiation participation in health fairs and events to promote awareness. Responsible for managing the overall marketing activities of the practice.
  • Represents the clinic in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies, and third party payers.
  • Assists in managing practice managed care relationships, including monitoring of related reimbursement, negotiation with third party payers, provider credentialing, and maintenance of contracts.
  • Serves as liaison and channel of communication between the practice / clinic, health plans, insurance companies and regulatory bodies.
  • Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, required.
  • Basic knowledge of medical billing coding, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, required
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
  • Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
  • Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing * Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
  • Basic to intermediate computer operation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook * Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises employees in the practice / clinic.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems

Certified Medical Assistant:  03-07-2019

Liberty Cardiovascular Specialists is looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join a dedicated and growing team of cardiac care providers based at Liberty Hospital. 

SUMMARY:Utilize training and experience as a medical assistant to room patients, obtain/record vital signs and perform phlebotomy.  Will assist with patient care and perform interventions as delegated by the nurse.  Will report observations/abnormal findings to the nurse or physician.

Electrophysiology Technician:  03-07-2019

Liberty Cardiovascular Specialists, a group of caring professional dedicated to providing quality cardiac are in the Northland, is currently recruiting a Electrophysiology Technician (or “Device Nurse”) to join our growing team at Liberty Hospital.

SUMMARY:Primary responsibilities include working with a multidisciplinary team in our combined CHF/Device clinic to care for both inpatient and outpatient adult patients with Chronic Heart Failure (CHF), and those patients who need implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD), cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices, permanent pacemakers (PPM) and implantable loop records.  This person will be responsible for interrogation and programming of these implantable devices, including managing the remote monitoring of device patients.  Using advanced clinical assessment skills work as part of a team to provide phone support, nursing assessments, and education to patients seen for cardiac conditions including CHF.

Required Education/Training: B.A/B.S in nursing, cardiovascular, life science, engineering, or technical discipline, or certification in a recognized national cardiac association. Additional training in Cardiac Device Interrogation and Programming

Required Experience:Minimum five (5) years clinical experience in a cardiology care setting; minimum of one (1) year experience in cardiac device programming. Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions

Required Education/Certification/Registration:Current Registered Nurse license with eligibility to work in the state of Missouri or Cardiac Device Specialist certification through the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE); BLS

Preferred Education/Training:Master's of Science degree in cardiovascular, life science, engineering, or technical discipline with additional training in cardiac device interrogation and programming

Preferred Experience:Minimum four (4) years cardiology clinic experience; minimum of three (3) years of cardiac device programming

Preferred Education/Certification/Registration:CCRN; CEN; ACLS
